The Foundation
Dee James and Talmage “Buck” James establish the family’s concrete tradition.
Built Across Generations.
Four generations of concrete knowledge—carried forward through hard work, reliable execution, and pride in every project.
Our Story
Nathan James Construction began in 1949, when Dee James and his son Talmage “Buck” James built a business around hard work and quality concrete craftsmanship.
That knowledge was passed from one generation to the next—first through Charles James and now through Nathan James. While the projects have grown in scale and complexity, the family standard has remained the same: prepare thoroughly, communicate clearly, and stand behind the work.
Today, Nathan James Construction serves commercial, industrial, and municipal partners throughout North Alabama with the field experience, skilled crews, and disciplined process required for demanding concrete projects.

What Legacy Means Today
Experience matters only when it produces better outcomes for the people trusting you with their project.
For Nathan James Construction, four generations means practical knowledge in the field, realistic planning before work begins, and the confidence to solve problems when conditions change. It means owners, contractors, and crews know where the project stands—and what happens next.
